Murrieta, CA — Alloy Studios, a division of Power Automedia, announced today its third season of $10K Drag Shootout: No Prep Edition has been awarded a Silver Telly Award in the General Television – Automotive category for the 42nd Annual Telly Awards. The Telly Awards honors excellence in video and television across all screens and is judged by leaders from video platforms, television, streaming networks, and production companies including Netflix, Dow Jones, Duplass Brothers Productions, Complex Networks, A&E Networks, Hearst Media, Nickelodeon, ESPN Films, RYOT, Partizan, and Vimeo.

Alloy Studios is a video agency that makes original content and television commercials for a variety of networks and organizations, particularly for high energy brands within action and motorsports. Power Automedia and Alloy Studios have partnered to create content for Horsepower Wars since 2018, creating several successful web shows such as Pony Wars and Junkyard Challenge. The $10K Drag Shootout has been a fan favorite series since the very first season, allowing for a partnership with Lucas Oil’s cable and satellite television channel, MAVTV Motorsports Network, in this past season.

“In the face of a year like no other, Alloy Studios has continued to defy the limitations of our new world, in continuing to create compelling and engaging work,” says Telly Awards Executive Director Sabrina Dridje. “This year’s submissions doubled down on what we already knew about the industry. Creativity cannot be stopped. Collaboration will always prevail. New ideas and stories will always find a way to break through to an audience.”

“It was inspiring to see the dedication of our Alloy team through a pandemic. To have that be recognized with such a prestigious award like a Telly, shows that perseverance pays off in unexpected ways,” said Executive Producer of Alloy Studios Jonathan Mill. “We were able to use the logistical constraints of following guidelines in unique ways to craft a story that really resonated with the audiences of our distribution partners. It was a fun challenge.”

Today’s winners announcement caps a year-long celebration of creators defying the limitations by embracing platforms to increase awareness about injustices and promote solidarity for movements, as well as geographical, like developing fully remote pipelines for dispersed teams.

This year, the Telly Awards saw expansion of new categories to reflect and celebrate the new forms of producing work that resulted from the past months’ restrictions and limitations. New categories included Remote Production, Virtual Events & Experiences and an increase in animation categories.

Last year, The Telly Awards attracted over 12,000 entries from top video content producers including Adobe, Adult Swim, the BBC, Condé Nast, J. Paul Getty Museum, PBS, Playstation, RadicalMedia, T Brand Studio, Ogilvy & Mather, and The Walt Disney Company.
