In 2016, Power Automedia released the “Coyote vs. LS Shootout” series – racking up more than 2 million views and lighting the internet on fire. Inspired by that shootout, Power Automedia’s all-new, all-original show Horsepower Wars is ready to debut in 2018, with a season of action-packed competitions and storylines.

Horsepower Wars will showcase automotive shops, engine builders, racers, and tuners. Each story will consist of a shootout where viewers will get to witness the entire build process; all the way to the end where there will be a showdown on either a chassis dyno, engine dyno, road course, or drag strip.

Highly anticipated Horsepower Wars content will include part 2 of the Coyote vs. LS Shootout, this time with boost, and an insane competition called the “$10K Drag Race Shootout.” In the $10K Shootout, three build teams will be handed $3,000 in cash and $7,000 in Summit Racing Gift cards to buy and build their car in only 10 days – and then drag race it. The winner takes the car home, and viewers can enter a contest to take home the other two cars. The most exciting part of the shootout is that any drag racing teams that want to compete will be free to apply to Horsepower Wars starting in January 2018.

Summit Racing is one of the key sponsors who have joined Horsepower Wars. SpeedVideo’s live automotive broadcasts have skyrocketed since its launch two years ago and now reach over 300,000 views per event.

For 2018, SpeedVideo has developed a new, bolder logo which reflects its explosive growth. The live, HD broadcasts SpeedVideo brought to drag racing fans all over the world last year will continue, supplemented by other exciting new on-demand content. But the biggest question is, “What events will be on the 2018 SpeedVideo live schedule?”

Power Automedia’s video production division, Alloy Studios, recently created an immersive commercial to show off the legendary and well-known Mickey Thompson tires at the track in conjunction with Street Outlaws superstar Daddy Dave.

This spot wasn’t just about the dragstrip, but also featured Mickey’s popular Baja ATZ tires which Daddy Dave uses on his Chevrolet 3500HD tow vehicle. With all of the miles that Dave travels for the popular TV show, he needs a tire he can depend on when money is on the line. Dave’s 2,000+ horsepower Nova also uses Mickey Thompson ET drag tires to do battle in No-Prep races all over the country.

For 10 years now, our video production team has been building beautiful content for the automotive industry. Recently rebranded Alloy Studios, our team continues their passion for building efficient and effective videos of every flavor.

In a constant search for talent, we have recently expanded our team to include two new members; Greg Myracle, as a Producer, and Matthew Robinson, as a Videographer. Myracle has put his organizational and video skills to use, managing and coordinating dozens of shoots for some of the most prestigious names in the automotive aftermarket industry, while Robinson works on the front lines and behind-the-scenes to create this incredible content

“Alloy Studios provides an amazing work environment,” said Robinson. “I love the different experiences the position has provided me thus far. My favorite aspect of the role is definitely having the ability to travel– I like the fact that I’m not always contained to a desk. I get to go interact with many of our clients on a face-to-face basis.”

MagnaFlow recently tapped Power Automedia’s Alloy Studios to create a commercial video showcasing NHRA superstar Leah Pritchett and her very own Dodge Challenger Hellcat.

“Leah is a new ambassador to the MagnaFlow team for 2017 and we wanted to showcase her on- and off-track abilities in partnership with her Dodge Hellcat,” said Kathryn Reinhardt, MagnaFlow Marketing Director.

“When you get the opportunity to work with Richard and Kathryn, it’s easy to get excited,” said Jason Snyder, Power Automedia Vice President. “MagnaFlow really understands the relationship between sports marketing, brand power, and video as a medium to reach like-minded enthusiasts. MagnaFlow is really great to work with, and Leah is not only a talented driver, but also very intuitive when working on projects like this one.”

Filmed in Southern California, the team at Alloy Studios captured the sound and passion behind this newly MagnaFlow-equipped 707-horsepower Hellcat. “We have worked with the Alloy team for years and, together, we have created some visually dynamic sound videos that have allowed consumers to be whisked away into an automotive heaven of aftermarket lifestyle scenes, paired with the powerful exhaust sounds of MagnaFlow and some of the best professional racers in the business,” said Reinhardt.

The exhaust company will utilize the finalized video as a advertisement commercial, which is now published on their website and leading social media platforms.
